Paul started at Cohda as Chief Engineer, laying the foundations for Cohda’s groundbreaking automotive and smart cities projects. He came to Cohda after six years in San Diego, working as CTO and Business Manager with wireless tech startups.

As CEO, Paul has led Cohda Wireless through two rounds of capital raising, attracting NXP Semiconductors and Cisco Systems as strategic investors. Under his leadership, Cohda has grown from 10 people to more than 50, and opened offices in Detroit, Munich and Shanghai. 

Paul’s tenure at the helm has positioned Cohda as the globally recognised brand for connected autonomous vehicles and smart city infrastructure.

Professor Paul Alexander is a pioneer in the field of iterative detection, with innovative and novel research dating back to the mid 1990s, and a track record of turning his research into products in Australia, Singapore and the United States of America.

Paul was the principal designer of advanced 3G receivers at Southern Poro Communications before co-founding Cohda Wireless to capitalise on new techniques he developed with his team at the University of South Australia.

From the beginning, Paul has led  the creation of all of Cohda’s IP and has built an impressive patent portfolio. He continues to create innovative IP at the head of Cohda’s Research team.

Rhys Godbee

Rhys leads Cohda’s Operations team and has been instrumental in updating our financial and operational processes, including the introduction of an Enterprise Resource Planning System.

With more than 20 years experience in accounting and finance, Rhys has worked for large and small organisations, many of them startup and turn-around entities. Before joining Cohda, Rhys held positions including CFO and Finance Director in the entertainment, technology, digital marketing and big data, wine and tourism industries. 

His substantial experience with businesses in the startup and high-growth phases includes contributing to the development of a business from a zero base to annual revenue of circa $100M over a period of nine years. Rhys was also part of a small team which conducted an Initial Public Offering (IPO) to list a technology company on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX).

Fabien leads Cohda’s Development, Production and Quality teams, which achieved the Design-Win for the world’s first V2X production vehicle.

With a background in short-range wireless IC and positioning systems, Fabien previously worked for UK firm CSR, a leading automotive wireless IC supplier. He achieved 75 % market share through his work in developing the long-term roadmap for automotive Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and supported one of the top three car makers in developing their 2008—2015 platforms.

He also led key projects in the UK, India and China, developing Personal Navigation Devices and aftermarket infotainment systems.

Bernd Luebben

Bernd leads our Sales and Support teams. He has been instrumental in significantly improving Cohda’s revenue, and has achieved all of our Design-Wins to date.

With more than 25 years of automotive and semiconductor industry experience, Bernd previously worked for semiconductor manufacturers such as Motorola SPS (now Freescale Semiconductor and NXP), and Texas Instruments, where he led their European Automotive Sales and Application team.

In Switzerland, Bernd was VP of Sales and Marketing for Volcano Communication Technologies (now part of Mentor Graphics), developing and executing global strategies.
