
Dr Paul Alexander
Chief Technical Officer
Dr. Paul Alexander is an internationally recognised researcher in the digital signal processing space. He has focused on research and development of advanced physical layer receiver techniques for CDMA and OFDM for 15 years. Paul is one of the inventors of the technology to be exploited by Cohda Wireless.
Prior to co-founding Cohda Wireless, Dr. Alexander consulted into UMTS network planning tool, 802.11 modem and space time coding development ventures for 4 years. His postdoctoral work focused on advanced receiver systems for UMTS and OFDM systems at The Centre for Wireless Communications, Singapore (1998-1999) and The Institute for Telecommunications Research, Australia (1997).
Paul received his B.E. and M.Eng.Sc. degrees from the University of Adelaide, South Australia in 1991 and 1995 respectively. He graduated with his Ph.D., titled "Coded Multiuser CDMA," in March 1997 from the University of South Australia. Publication efforts include 12 journal publications, 2 book chapters, 34 conference papers and several patents in the areas of CDMA and OFDM.
Dr Paul Gray
Vice-President, Engineering
Dr Paul Gray is an expert in the field of broadband communications engineering and product design. He has a proven track record of creating and bringing to market new products and is experienced in a range of technologies and standards including IEEE 802.11, IEEE 802.16, DVB, HomePlug and ADSL.
Prior to joining Cohda Wireless Dr. Gray held senior engineering and business management positions at a handful of innovative startup companies. Most recently, Paul served as business area manager at TrellisWare where he was responsible for the company’s forward error correction (FEC) products. Paul guided all aspects of the FEC business area, including product definition, product implementation, business development, and project management. He led the development of all of TrellisWare’s FEC products, including TrellisWare’s first ASIC, a 500 Mbps Turbo decoder.
Dr. Gray received a Ph.D. in Information Engineering from the University of South Australia, as well as an M.Eng. in Electronic Engineering and B.Eng. from the South Australia Institute of Technology.
Peter Harriss
Chief Operating Officer
Peter is an Engineer with extensive experience in manufacturing management and the management of product development and technology commercialisation projects.
After holding General Management and Senior Manufacturing Engineer level positions with various manufacturing companies, Peter spent 4 years consulting to major South Australian companies in Project Management, principally in the management of Product Development Projects.
More recently Peter has managed the formation of several technology start-up companies emanating from the University of South Australia. Peter is also an established entrepreneur, having started and exited several businesses of his own
