Cohda has designed unique receiver side PHY signal processing that overcomes both the long delay spread associated with outdoors and/or NLOS deployments, and mobility problems even when they occur simultaneously. The waveforms employed are 802.11 compliant. No modifications are made at the transmitter.
In the field, the coverage is improved considerably as the Cohda radio can process signals perturbed by simultaneous multipath and mobility.

Relative to existing technologies these techniques result in
Performance consistent with that obtained indoors is provided in harsh NLOS outdoor environments for speeds of 200mph or more. Finally deployment economics are significantly impacted since saturating an area with LOS access points is no longer required.
